SUMMERSIDE CAPITALS

(1980 - Present)

The Summerside Capitals joined the PEI Junior 'A' Hockey League in the early 1980's. In the late 1980's, they were called the 'Western Capitals'. In 1991, the PEI League was absorbed by the Metro Valley Junior 'A' Hockey League to become the Maritime Junior 'A' Hockey League. By 1995, the team was called the 'Hemphill Pontiac Western Capitals'. By 2000, they were back to being called just the 'Capitals'.
