WINDSOR SPITFIRES

(1971 - 1973)

In 1971, the Windsor Spitfires were formed and joined the young Southern Ontario Junior 'A' (Tier II) loop. They had taken their name from the old Junior 'A' team (1945 - 1953) that started out as a charter member of the IHL. The team played just two seasons before being renamed the 'Bulldogs', taken from Senior team that had won an Allan Cup and had also played briefly in the IHL.
