(1961 - 1970)

The St. Thomas Barons joined the Western Ontario Junior 'B' Hockey League in 1961. The league had aspirations of becoming a Junior 'A' League. Finally, in 1968 the league broke away from the OHA and became a rebel Junior 'A' League much along the lines of the WCHL. After two seasons, the league rejoined organized hockey with the creation of the Tier II level. The new league was called the Southern Ontario Junior 'A' League. The Barons changed their name to the Elgins.
