SMITHS FALLS BEARS

(1961 - 1976)

The Smiths Falls Bears were charter members of the Ottawa-Hull & District Junior 'A' Hockey League in 1961. The league was set up by the Montreal Canadiens and was a full blown Junior 'A' league eligible for the Memorial Cup.

In 1964, the league changed its name to the Central Junior Hockey League. By 1970, the league was reclassified as Tier II Junior 'A'. The Bears competed until 1976 when they ceased operations.
