PETERBOROUGH PETES
(1956 - Present)
The Kitchener-Waterloo Canucks of the OHA Junior 'A' were relocated to Peterborough by their sponsor, the Montreal Canadiens. The team was officially called the TPT's (Toronto Peterborough Transport) but the team was refered to as the 'Petes' early on and the name eventually won out after sponsorship changed. The Petes have represented Ontario many times in the Memorial Cup tournament. However, they have only one the Cup once in 1979. They have finished second in the nation six times.
