PEMBROKE LUMBER KINGS

(1958 - Present)

The Pembroke Lumber Kings joined the Interprovincial Junior League in 1958. In 1961, three of the teams from this league formed the basis for the new Ottawa-Hull & District Junior 'A' Hockey League that was organized and sponsored by the Montreal Canadiens. In 1964, the league changed its name to the Central Junior Hockey League. In 1970, the league was relegated to the new level of Tier II Junior 'A'. The Lumber Kings remain a part of that league today.

The name 'Lumber Kings' had been used by Senior teams in the town as well going back as far as 1949.
