NORTH BAY TRAPPERS

(1962 - 1982)

The North Bay Trappers were charter members of the NOHA Junior 'A' in 1962. This was a full fledged Junior 'A' League eligible for Memorial Cup playdowns. Unfortunately, the league had to get past the OHA and over 10 years, only managed one win against their stronger rivals to the south.

In 1972, the league disbanded as two of its biggest communities (Sudbury and Sault Ste. Marie) were taken in by the OHA. The Trappers went on to join the OHA Provincial Junior 'A' (Tier II) as a charter member of that new league. The Trappers lasted until 1982 when they ceased operations to make room for the North Bay Centennials.
