MARKHAM TRAVEL

(1983 - 1991)

Markham iced two junior teams for much of the 1970's. In 1983, this two team scenario played out again when the Markham Travel were formed joining the Metro Junior 'B' Hockey League. In 1987, the Provincial Junior 'A' Hockey League ceased operations but the cross town rivals Markham Waxers survived dropping into the Central Ontario Junior 'B' Hockey League.

The Markham Travel team ceased operations in 1991, the same year the Metro league was upgraded to Provincial 'A' Status.
