KENORA MUSKIES
(1968 - 1979)
The Kenora Muskies joined the Manitoba Junior Hockey League in 1968. At that time, there was turmoil in the hockey scene in Western Canada with the formation of the rebel CJMHL (now WHL). When Kenora joined the MJHL, the league was participating at the Major Junior 'A' level. By 1970, the league was relegated to the new Tier II Junior 'A' level. In 1979, the Muskies went back to their traditional hockey name of the 'Thistles'.
