FORT WILLIAM-WESTFORT HURRICANES

(1950 - 1975)

In 1950, the Fort William Hurricane Rangers of the Thunder Bay Junior Hockey League changed their name to the Fort William Hurricanes. By the mid 1960's, they were being called the Westfort Hurricanes. In 1972, The team became the Thunder Bay-Westfort Hurricanes playing in the Cam-Am Junior Hockey League, the forerunner to today's USHL. They returned to the Thunder Bay league in 1974. In 1975, they became the Degagne Hurricanes.
