KIMBERLEY DYNAMITERS

(1931 - 1988)

The Kimberley Dynamiters are one of the great names in Canadian Senior hockey. The club was formed in 1931 as they joined the Trail Smoke Eaters and Nelson Kokanees in the West Kootenay Senior Hockey League. The club won a world title in 1936. The club suspended operations in 1942 during WWII but resumed playe in the new Western International Hockey League in 1945. The club dropped out of the league in 1955 and played at the Intermediate level before returning to Senior hockey in 1961. Unfortunately, the league dropped to two teams in 1962 and suspended operations. Kimberley continued on as an independent team before the league reformed the following year. Kimberley remained a part of the league in it's demise in 1988.
