In Glas Co Biltrite Approved

(1979 - 1980)

The Biltrite slug had been the primary puck used by the WHA. When the WHA folded in 1979, the Biltrite puck came along with the former WHA teams to the NHL. A complete series was issued for the whole league. Several rare and interesting varieties of the Colorado Rockies were issued as part of this series. This series was also notable in that it was the first series used by the NHL with screened logos on both sides instead of rubberized cresting. It also marked the introduction of In Glas Co to the NHL, who were screening the pucks for Biltrite.

Unfortunately, the pucks were not well received by the NHL and the Biltrite experiment lasted just one season as the company ceased operations in 1980.
